As a dau...Not a father, not a son--what would I do? As a daughter, I hope I would want to see my mother's work recognized. Especially since the son has had so much recognition in this case, it seems the breach could be healed between the two by the father's receiving recognition. As for the father, it's sad that he is still so thirsty for acclaim that he hasn't been able to appreciate his son's, but then, there are also questions of value at stake--for both of them. But how does the committee foist correction of their error off onto the son? I don't get that. How does the committee pass off their responsibility? It's hard for me to imagine myself as either a father or a son, in competition with either the older or younger generation, but how can the son not want recognition for his father?
