It goes against...I will never love “altered” books. It goes against the way I was raised. Yes, in our family, that would definitely be seen as disrespectful. <br /><br />You bring up a very important point when you remind your readers that scrolls are still around, still read, and still revered. The jump from there to Henry Miller made my head spin, but I loved the quote from him. (We have a good friend who loves to give us books, and we love to send him books, too. They are so real, as is friendship!) “Amen!” also to your framed quotation about books being sold to go to new homes.
